Phuket is gearing up to host the Thailand International Boat Show next month, with event organisers saying it will showcase the destination’s ability to host large-scale gatherings and demonstrate its world-class yachting credentials.

Taking place from 12-15 January 2023 at Phuket Royal Marina, the show, organised by JAND Events, is supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau. As part of the event, InterContinental Phuket Resort will host a charity gala dinner on 14 January.

David Hayes, CEO of JAND Events said: “Pre pandemic, Thailand’s yachting industry was a multi-billion baht industry, welcoming yachts from cruisers to superyachts and their owners from around the world. The Thailand International Boat Show aims to put Phuket and Thailand back in the limelight and on the world stage. Our goal is to bring the industry together and showcase the best brands and products from the marine and lifestyle sectors to a global audience while re-cementing Phuket and Thailand’s position as one of the top boating destinations in the world.”

The event will feature up to 50 boats in the water and an onshore pavilion with a luxury hub and marine products and services, as well as an onshore social programme including live music, and dinner options on Royal Phuket Marina’s boardwalk.

Phuket has four marinas, while plans for a superyacht marina are in the pipeline. The destination attracts yacht owners from places such as Hong Kong and Singapore, who choose to keep their boats there.
