SINGAPORE - Buoyed by a successful debut last year, exclusive hosted-buyer event M&C Asia Connections (MCAC) will make a return to Singapore this August, with organisers also adding an inaugural Japan edition.

The flagship event of Northstar Meetings Group's industry-leading brand M&C Asia, MCAC 2020 leverages on the company's comprehensive global MICE database and reputable brands, and connects pre-qualified international planners from corporations, associations, incentive houses and independent planning companies based in North America, Europe and Asia with Asia's elite travel suppliers including hotels, resorts, convention bureaus (CVBs) and destination management companies (DMCs).

The event will be held at Intercontinental Singapore from August 25-26, 2020. Delegates can expect to participate in pre- and post-event familiarisation trips, a series of pre-scheduled one-on-one appointments, expert education sessions, and unique experiential networking events.

BRINGING THE INDUSTRY TOGETHER

David Blansfield, executive vice president of Northstar Meetings Group, says, "The success of MCAC 2019 affirmed that there's growing demand for meetings and incentives in Asia among global meeting and incentive program planners, and they value the wealth of knowledge, ideas, expertise and inspirations that our Asia-based MICE industry partners contribute to the global meetings industry. Northstar is excited that, through our business events like MCAC 2020, we'll continue to build on our role of bringing planners together with the MICE industry suppliers who are most suited to their needs."

Irene Chua, vice president, Asia, for Northstar Travel Group, says, "MCAC has always served as a fantastic platform for us to bring together qualified international buyers and leading travel suppliers in the meetings and events industry. We are looking to build on the success of the 2019 edition, bring it to even greater heights at MCAC 2020 and forge better, more lasting connections between our participants."

MCAC JAPAN 2020 IN KYOTO

On the heels of the successful MCAC, Northstar Meetings Group has launched a Japan edition dedicated to connect international buyers with Japanese suppliers. MCAC Japan 2020 will be held at the Grand Prince Hotel, Kyoto, from June 29 to June 30, 2020.

Kyoto, the cultural capital of Japan, was chosen as the host of MCAC Japan 2020 for its unique blend of rich culture, comprehensive MICE infrastructure, and renowned 'Omotenashi' hospitality.

Blansfield says, "The city offers a rich blend of history and culture, endless unique experiences that would make for amazing off-sites, and world-class MICE facilities and venues as well as easy connectivity from the nearby Kansai International Airport."

Chua adds, "With MCAC Japan 2020, our hosted buyers and suppliers can expect a refreshing programme of pre- and post-event familiarisation trips centred around the city's longstanding imperial heritage. What will continue to thread through the event will be our dedication to facilitating high-quality business matches, in-depth educational sessions and ample networking opportunities."
