5G Tech 2021 sets recovery path for Malaysia's digital economy

The hybrid event at Kuala Lumpur expects some 1,000 in-person and online attendees.

From 30 November to 2 December 2021, JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur will host 5G TECH 2021, a hybrid event gathering some 1,000 in-person and online attendees on the recovery path for Malaysia's digital economy.

Themed 'Digital Economy Recovery Through 5G', the event will zoom into how Malaysian industries can harness the ultra-fast connectivity tool to better serve customers, offer new products and services, reduce costs, and reinvent the business model.

Opening the keynote speech is Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Annuar bin Musa, Malaysia's Minister of Communications and Multimedia, who will be joined by local players such as Telekom Malaysia, FORTINET, EdgePoint, Vive Enterprise Stories, NTT Docomo, Qualcomm, Microsoft Malaysia, and some 200 exhibitors focused on the development of a 5G network in the region.

Of the experts in attendance, speakers include Mahadhir Aziz, CEO at Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation; Julie Snell, Chairman at The Scotland 5G Centre; and James Lai, ​Chairman at Malaysia IoT Association.

"As the world has changed after the Covid-19 pandemic, the dependence on network speed, capacity, and security has never been greater. The 5G phenomenon, is seen as not just a generational step, but as a way for the society to advance together towards a more connected future," said Bangaly Camara, Managing Director of CT Event Asia, the event's organiser.
