The International Mining and Resources Conference + Expo (IMARC) will be held in Sydney in 2025, marking the fourth time in a row that the city has hosted the event.

IMARC first took place in Sydney in 2022 and since then the event has seen record numbers, reporting a 35% increase in speakers and attendees. This year’s conference, which took place in October at International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney was IMARC’s biggest yet, and the largest business event held in Sydney this year. It attracted 9,000 attendees from 115 countries over three days, contributing an estimated direct expenditure of AUS$17.8 million. Next year’s event will once again be held at ICC Sydney, and 70% of exhibition space has already been sold.

Business Events Sydney CEO, Lyn Lewis-Smith said: “It was great to see IMARC back in Sydney for a third consecutive year – its biggest yet, and the largest professional business event on Sydney’s packed 2024 calendar. The conference programme facilitates vital conversations on ESG reporting and circularity, showcasing to the world how Australia is transitioning its economy.”

Minister for Jobs and Tourism the Hon John Graham said: “Sydney is the nation’s premier destination for business events, a sector we have plans to grow even further over coming years. We look forward to welcoming the International Mining and Resources Conference back to Sydney for the fourth time in 2025 and encourage these thousands of delegates to enjoy everything Sydney has to offer but also get out into our amazing regional areas.”
