Following the successful inaugural edition of Get Local this year,
the show is set to return to ICC Sydney from June 22 to 23 in 2023.
Get
Local in 2022 – the first in-person international business event
exhibition held in Australia for two years – saw more than 500 buyers,
150 exhibiting companies and a distinguished line-up of speakers
participating. In total there were 1,038 attendees.
Recognising the high volume of business meetings that incentive and
event planners and product suppliers were currently experiencing,
co-founders Donna Kessler and Gary Bender said the move to mid-year
should allow everyone to recharge before the next big push.
“By June 2023, we anticipate the next wave of new product offerings
will be at their peak and it will be timely for suppliers to share with
planners what is available,” says Kessler.
“We also anticipate that by this time, business event planners will be looking for new and exciting products.”
Gary Bender said Get Local 2023 will follow a similar format to this
year’s event with an open layout, no pre-scheduled appointments, talks
that both inspire and educate, and plenty of opportunities for
networking.
“Get Local allows exhibitors and buyers to network freely and to
enjoy quality food and fare. The freedom to roam when and where it suits
throughout the show is the result of feedback from attendees,” says
Bender.
“We have always recognised that planners are busy and don’t want to
be locked into meetings with suppliers they simply don’t have business
for, which is why we won’t be having hosted buyers and pre-scheduled
appointments. What we will have is an event that is conducive to good
quality business.”
