The Global Urban & Advanced Air Summit (GUAAS) is set to launch
its first Asia edition in Singapore on 27-28 September 27-28 2023.
The event, organised by Farnborough International, is a leading
global business conference on Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and electric
vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL). This year's event is expected to
attract c-suite level attendees from the Asia-Pacific AAM community,
including industry organisations, city officials, key decision-makers,
regulators, investors and governments.
The eVTOL sector is experiencing exponential growth, and research
indicates that Asia has the potential to become a global leader in the
industry. Flight trials and certification are set to take place in 2023
and 2024, positioning the region to overtake Europe and the US in this
field. The global push for sustainability in the sector will also be a
key theme at the summit.
Gareth Rogers, CEO of Farnborough International, expressed his
excitement about taking GUAAS international and bringing together the
global players in advanced air mobility. Singapore, a leading megacity
in the region with a thriving AAM ecosystem, was chosen as the ideal
location for the event.
The inaugural Asia edition of GUAAS will provide a platform for
industry peers and partners to discuss and share insights about the
future of urban and advanced air mobility.
Industry leaders such as Hon Lung Chu, head of APAC at Volocopter,
believe that the event is coming at an opportune moment for the
industry. Yun-yuan Tay, Head of Asia-Pacific at Skyports Infrastructure,
also sees the Singapore location as having maximum impact on AAM
leaders.
The launch of GUAAS Asia is an important milestone in the AAM
industry's global expansion, and the event is expected to provide a
unique opportunity for the Asia-Pacific community to spearhead the
future of flight.
