Education will be a strong focus for MEETINGS 2024, New Zealand’s largest business events gathering. This year’s show, held at Rotorua’s Energy Events Centre from 19-20 June, stands to be the biggest yet, with 246 stands representing 205 businesses from 18 regions of New Zealand including 36 new exhibitors.

New to MEETINGS 2024 are education sessions for buyers during lunch breaks, covering a wide range of relevant and trending topics like securing event funding and how tikanga Māori can enhance events. Day buyers registering before the end of May will receive priority registration to their choice of sessions, while these sessions will also be recorded and made available to all attendees.

MEETINGS will also feature the Team Up Events’ lunchtime workshop on 19 June, providing a first-hand experience of how events can incorporate corporate social responsibility elements for local communities.

Over the course of these two days, the Tourism New Zealand Knowledge and Destination Hub will be hosting 23 different 15-minute targeted presentations, bringing regional showcase updates from across New Zealand as well as insights into the Asian and North American events markets.

Attendees can learn about sustainability certifications from Toitū and Qualmark, GST for Australasian events, the role of professional conference organizers, and Māori cultural protocols. Tourism New Zealand's team will discuss resources for attracting international conferences.

Tourism New Zealand’s Business Events team will also be on the stand to discuss the support, bid assistance and resources available to help attract and host successful international conferences.

Meanwhile, over 100 hospitality, event, and tourism students from Toi Ohomai Institute will explore the tradeshow, working with organisers and attending sessions to develop industry knowledge.
