Business Events Wellington has cited the city’s compact layout, walkability, and integrated public transport as ideal reasons for hosting such global events.
ICCE Global Coach Conference has confirmed its 2027 event for Wellington, which is set to welcome 750 delegates and more than NZ$1.8 million (US$1.1 million) in economic benefit to the city.
The bid was led by Sport NZ, with support from Business Events Wellington and Tourism New Zealand Business Events.
To be held at Tākina Wellington Convention & Exhibition Centre in November 2027, Business Events Wellington Manager, Irette Ferreira has identified the city’s “compact layout, walkability, and integrated public transport” as ideal reasons allowing a seamless and enriching delegate experience.
Organised by the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE), the conference celebrates coaching as a force for good, with education themes including inclusion and equity, wellbeing and ethics in coaching, digital futures, and sustainable coaching pathways.
Tourism New Zealand global manager business events, Penelope Ryan, adds: “Hosting the ICCE Global Coach Conference will enhance New Zealand's reputation as a leader in coaching and offer fresh perspectives for visiting delegates through the incorporation of indigenous knowledge. We look forward to showcasing all that Wellington and Aotearoa New Zealand have to offer.”
