Washington, DC is the 13th destination to join BestCities Global
Alliance. The global network of business events destinations now extends
the alliance across North America, furthering its aim of promoting
positive impact through business events.
Washington, DC is a centre for innovation, education, and cultural
exchange, and has grown its profile as a welcoming host to international
conferences. Meeting the BestCities Commitments, the US capital
completed a stringent vetting process to join the alliance, including a
detailed site inspection and tour of the city.
Edward Koh, chair of BestCities Global Alliance Board, said: “We are
excited to welcome Washington, DC to the BestCities Global Alliance.
Their presence strengthens the list of quality destinations within our
network. This partnership reinforces BestCities standing as a global
alliance, enriching the options available to our association clients

Home to many event centres, including the John F Kennedy Center for
Performing Arts, the capital city is a nexus where planners can access
industry leaders and experts for speakers and expand the footprint of
their event by using unique and famous spaces within walking distance of
the Walter E Washington Convention Center.
The city has 24 Michelin-starred establishments and over 33,000 hotel rooms and a wide range of suppliers.
