Kenes Group, a global meetings and events organiser, is the winner of the 2022 IAPCO Innovation Award for its Unlok Education platform which is a visionary online educational platform for healthcare professionals. Unlok Education is an AI-powered video library that integrates several technologies into an easy-to-navigate, cross-specialities learning space. The platform allows healthcare professionals to access Continuing Medical Education (CME), the Global Education of Medicine and Science, and other leading medical organisations.

The announcement was made at the gala awards evening last week at IMEX Frankfurt. The IAPCO Innovation Award is one of three Driving Excellence Awards given by IAPCO every year where the association seeks nominations from across its member community.

The Innovation Award judges selected Unlok Education as the most innovative new product or service in the meetings and events industry in 2022 from the nominations submitted. The award is presented annually to the organisation that has made the most significant contribution to the advancement of the meetings and events industry.

Audrey Alloul, chief digital officer, heads up the recently created Digital Department at Kenes and is responsible for the development of Unlok Education. She has been part of Kenes for over 17 years holding several leadership positions.

Unlok Education was created in response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused the cancellation or postponement of many in-person medical congresses. Unlok Education uses algorithm-based matching systems and artificial intelligence to help the knowledge exchange between users, and between users and speakers. It automatically generates captions and translations to 120 different languages, identifies highlights of keynotes in the speakers' speech, and recommends similar content to create personalised CME-accredited learning programmes based on users' searches.

The platform is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese. More languages will be available soon.
