The Australian Business Events Association and the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) Australia and New Zealand Chapter have signed a three-year memorandum of understanding aimed at advancing research, professional development, talent growth and sector visibility.

The collaboration encompasses several strategic areas, including enhanced Australia and New Zealand participation in the annual Incentive Travel Index, jointly produced by IRF, SITE and Oxford Economics, to provide richer regional insights into incentive travel trends.

The partnership will also give members across all career stages access to industry-relevant learning opportunities through education programmes, webinars and conferences, including SITE’s Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) and Certified Incentive Travel Professional (CITP) programmes.

To improve industry mentorship, the partnership will also leverage SITE's Young Leaders and ABEA's Peer XChange initiative to better connect experienced professionals with emerging talent.

Both organisations will promote each other's events, research findings and membership benefits, while joint communications strategies will highlight the business events sector's contribution to Australia's visitor economy.

“This agreement will help to develop specialist capabilities and give emerging talent clear pathways into our profession. It’s a practical step that connects ANZ market needs with knowledge and data,” said SITE Australia and New Zealand Chapter president Tanya Wick.
