Global travel management company BCD Travel reported that its proprietary messaging system delivered 94 million communications to business travellers worldwide in 2025, reflecting growing demand from corporations for real-time travel updates and engagement tools.
The company said message volumes through its “message hub”, a core component of its TripSource travel platform, have risen 12% year-on-year since January, reaching an average of 8.8 million messages per month.
The rules-based system sends automated trip communications in more than 15 languages, helping companies respond to travel disruption, reinforce policy compliance and maintain visibility over travellers on the road.
According to BCD, the increase comes amid broader pressures facing corporate travel programmes, including tighter budgets, rising traveller expectations and frequent operational disruptions.
The message hub integrates with key travel management systems including order management and crisis management platforms.
Trip updates are delivered through an omnichannel mix of mobile push notifications, in-app alerts, email and SMS, and can also be shared with BCD travel agents when additional human assistance may be required during disruptions.
