PENANG — S P Setia Bhd has promoted Francis Teo as overall head of convention centres, where he will helm the Group’s convention centre arm, which includes Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) in Selangor, as well as Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Penang.
In 2012, Teo successfully launched the convention centre segment for S P Setia with the opening of SCCC. Here, he managed the overall operations, development, marketing and brand strategy to attract footfall and create a viable business venture. In his new role, he will focus on positioning S P Setia Bhd as the only venue operator in Malaysia with two convention centres in its portfolio.
He brings more than two decades of experience in the business events industry to the table. He is also currently the honorary secretary for the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS).
