With the pandemic throwing up uncertainty in the travel landscape, corporate travel and meeting planners face increasing complexities in their work. Travel management and business services companies recognise this shift and are collaborating to provide more in-depth and seamless solutions that are versatile and market-specific.

GlobalStar Travel Management extends Asia network into Japan with World Travel System (WTS) as partner. WTS provides a range of business travel services and is a major international flight ticket wholesaler in Japan.

“WTS is the latest of six new partners joining our network in the last eleven months. We are seeing more significant travel companies from around the world looking for ways and means of benefitting from global reach and expertise,” said GlobalStar CEO James Stevenson.

He also emphasised current market needs that demand intimate market knowledge, flexibility, agility and the ability to work naturally and effectively at pace. “In the new world of travel, these skills are vital for corporates as they operate against a changing ecosystem.”

For THe ATPI Group, a travel management, events and sustainability consultancy, the acquisition of The Travel Authority (TTA) expands its footprint in Australia and New Zealand.

TTA's corporate travel portfolio across the marine and energy industries and the leisure and events sector make it a strong strategic fit for ATPI.

“ATPI’s dedicated marine and energy, and mining and resources, divisions are growing in Australia and the acquisition of The Travel Authority cements our expansion in this region.

"With a strong corporate presence in Sydney and the servicing of marine customers in Perth, The Travel Authority team complements our existing Melbourne and Perth-based operations, as well as bringing additional support and expertise to our team," said Ian Sinderson, CEO, ATPI Group.

With the acquisition, ATPI is also adding a travel management company catering to specialist and expert service in the events sector.

As part of the ATPI Group portfolio, TTA will enjoy access to world-leading specialist technology including bespoke platforms built to service the specific needs of the energy and shipping sectors.
