Gyeonggi Tourism Organization (GTO) is investing in talent development as the destination trains its sights on developing a more mature and competitive MICE industry.
The MICE Industry Academy training kicked off at Suwon Convention Center on 20 July, and will run until to 24 July.
According to media reports, the ongoing curriculum includes content about Gyeonggi's specialised tourism and MICE industry, online practical MICE training and field trips to unique MICE venues.
The programme also gives young attendees access to mentoring and interview sessions with senior members of the industry.
Also part of the curriculum are resume writing and interview skills, as well as job coaching.
Targeting young and aspiring MICE professionals, the MICE Industry Academy is described as a field-oriented curriculum to help young people in the province build their MICE careers.
It is part of GTO’s cooperation with Suwon Convention Center and Suwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry to help alleviate youth unemployment, create jobs, and boost the regional competitiveness of Gyeonggi Province’s MICE industry.
