ONYX Hospitality Group expands its Asian footprint

It aims to position itself as the best medium-sized hospitality management company in Southeast Asia.

ONYX Hospitality Group, renowned for its hotels and resorts, serviced apartments, and luxury residences across APAC, is expanding and aiming to establish its position as "The Best Medium-sized Hospitality Management Company in Southeast Asia."

With 44 properties across Thailand, Malaysia, China, the Maldives, Bangladesh, and Laos, the Group has four brands: Amari, OZO, Shama, and Oriental Residence.

It plans to operate over 50 properties by 2025 and 70 by 2028. Recent additions include the Amari Raaya Maldives, which welcomed its first guests in Q3 2023, and the new Amari Colombo Sri Lanka which will open in 2024. Eight properties are slated to make their debut in 2024.

While ONYX's footprint extends globally, its primary geographical focus for growth is Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand and Malaysia. It will secure new projects in Hong Kong and Indonesia, with plans to establish a strong presence in Bali, Jakarta, and beyond.

Amari Bangkok gets a facelift

For thirty years, Amari Watergate Bangkok has been an iconic landmark in Bangkok’s CBD. It has been renamed to Amari Bangkok after significant refurbishments. The upgrades include new premier rooms and suites with modern interiors. New dining establishments have been added and a “maai spa” will be launched next year.
