Since its inception in 1993, Bangkok-based EXO Travel has evolved into a 700-strong team, specialising in authentic and sustainable experiences. With dedicated event teams focused on MICE, the DMC is known for delivering flawless and uniquely memorable events.

To date, EXO Travel has managed events of all sizes, from large-scale corporate gatherings of over 1,000 participants to intimate private incentives. Its client list includes names like BMW, Airbus, Unilever, and Microsoft, among others.

The B Corp-certified company also has heavily invested in technology to enhance client convenience and efficiency through its digital platform and booking tools.

M&C Asia speaks to Hamish Keith, co-founder and CEO of EXO Travel for more insights:

M&C Asia: What standout features set EXO Travel apart from others in the industry?

Keith: EXO has always stood for creativity and service excellence. Our consistent delivery of innovative travel experiences as well as rock-solid operations keep us at the forefront of our industry, both in the leisure and MICE sectors. However, what really distinguishes EXO Travel is our very clear focus on our purpose, which is to expand horizons and create a lasting positive impact through travel. M&C Asia: How are DMCs today different from before, and how is EXO Travel innovating to meet the evolving needs of MICE clients?

Keith: There is no doubt the industry has evolved and the world is far more connected than it was 30 years ago when we started. Back then, reputation and reliability were paramount. While these qualities remain fundamental, other factors such as speed of response, variety of services, flexibility, and, of course, pricing have become critical to converting leads into bookings. To meet these ever-evolving demands, a robust and agile technology platform is essential so that staff and clients can access and transfer information quickly, sometimes instantly. At EXO, we are investing heavily in technology, providing clients with a digital platform and booking tools that make the work of our MICE clients easier, faster, and more informed.

M&C Asia: What are the most rewarding aspects of your work, and what motivates you to stay in the DMC industry for so many years?

Keith: By far the most rewarding aspect of my work is building teams, developing people, and helping them find their purpose so they can grow, thrive, and succeed. As the CEO of Asia's leading DMC, I feel very lucky, and more than a bit responsible, to be in a position where I can help shape the future of our industry and drive it in a positive direction. I truly believe in the power of travel to have a positive transformative impact, not only on the traveller but also on the communities we work with, opening people's eyes to see the world differently. I love travel for that reason and still love to travel and explore this world, a passion I hope to continue for many more years.
