Taiwan's marketing efforts in the Middle East include sales trainings, familiarisation trips for trade and media, print advertisements and creative digital campaigns.
DUBAI - Taiwan is on a charm offensive in the Middle East, concluding a multi-city roadshow in Dubai last month in its bid to attract more MICE and business travellers from the Gulf.
In December, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau (TTB) in the Middle East organised a MICE presentation in Dubai that was attended by the travel trade, including airline personnel, and bloggers.
Recently, the TTB office in the Middle East also hosted a media and trade familiarisation trip to Taipei to showcase the city's autumn season and festivals.
The efforts are part of Taiwan's efforts to boost tourism from the Middle East to the Asian city, a booming destination that saw visitor numbers from the Gulf increasing by 6.17 per cent in 2018.
Other promotional activities include a campaign with Emirates. The efforts are continuing in the market through sales trainings, familiarisation trips for trade and media, print advertisements and creative digital campaigns.
