MOU marks a new avenue for OCTB and TCEB in achieving their mutual goals.
Japan's Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau (OCTB) and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) have pledged to work more closely together to promote business events and to enhance industry skills sets.
Having signed a Memorandum of Understanding last month, the two parties say they are committed to strengthening cooperation and collaboration with regards to meetings and events in the cities of Osaka and Bangkok.
The partnership will look to increase participation from both sides at trade shows, meetings, incentive tours, conventions, and exhibitions organised by one or both parties, and exchange information related to the business events market and product development, including market research and development.
OCTB and TCEB are also looking to organise meetings together to promote cooperation between the various other MICE destinations of both countries.
Developing talent and providing training opportunities are also included within the MoU, with OCTB and TCEB planning to exchange information on MICE training courses and programmes.
The MoU was signed in Osaka by Puripan Bunnag, TCEB senior vice president - Administration, and Hiroshi Mizohata, president of OCTB. It was witnessed by Atchaka Sibunruang, chairman of the board of TCEB.
