DARWIN - Australia's regional Northern Territory Convention Bureau has been rebranded as Northern Territory Business Events, a dedicated business events unit that sits within the Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture's Tourism NT.
The new name will be rolled out progressively from mid-September onwards, the organisation said in a release. It will be formally launched at the 2020 Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) in Melbourne in February.
"With digital channels now playing such a key role in destination research, we have identified that by incorporating 'business events' into our name, we will increase online engagement leading to an enhanced level of client interaction," said Rebecca McCaig, director of Northern Territory Business Events.
Meanwhile, the region's tourism board Tourism NT has also released a new brand, 'Different in every sense', that seeks to highlight the destination's unique experiences.
As part of the re-branding process, the Tourism NT logo has undergone a refresh that modernises the brolga, an Australian wetland bird that is the state's emblem.
Northern Territory Business Events (NTBE) is an NT Government, non-membership convention bureau organisation that supports business events to the region.
