The Hong Kong Tourism Board has launched its first MICE-dedicated Visitor Service Centre at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), marking a first for a major convention and exhibition venue.
Located at the Harbour Road entrance of HKCEC, the centre is positioned as a front-line welcome point for international delegates, offering travel information, tips and recommendations that encourage post-show leisure.
The Visitor Service Centre features a self-service digital kiosk presenting major events listings, HKTB thematic campaigns and practical guides covering accommodation, transportation and other aspects of itinerary planning.
During large-scale conventions and exhibitions, HKTB will also deploy staff on site to offer real-time assistance, including personalised recommendations for post-conference experiences.
The opening coincided with Consensus Hong Kong 2026, one of the largest global cryptocurrency and Web3 conferences to be staged in the city.
Michael Lau, chairman of the conference found the new centre “invaluable”. “With so many [leisure] options in the city, HKTB’s ability to curate and highlight these opportunities is helpful,” Lau commented.
Anthony Lau, executive director of HKTB, stated that the new centre reflects the NTO’s efforts to support the business events sector while showcasing Hong Kong’s tourism offerings.
