HKTB appoints Raymond Chan as GM, event and product development

Chan starts his new role on 1 July 2023.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has appointed Raymond Chan, currently regional director, Southeast Asia in Singapore, as the new GM, event and product development. He will be relocated to Hong Kong Head Office with effect from 1 July.

Dane Cheng, HKTB executive director, said, “Mega events are an important platform for promoting Hong Kong’s tourism, as they showcase the unique appeal and offer diverse experiences to visitors. I am confident that, with his extensive knowledge and experience in marketing and tourism, Raymond will be able to bring new elements to HKTB’s mega events and further strengthen the collaborations with partners of citywide events to reinforce Hong Kong’s status as the Events Capital of Asia.”

Chan joined the HKTB in 2012, having held key marketing and public affairs positions in Southeast Asian and other markets. He was promoted to the position of regional director, Southeast Asia in May 2018, and is responsible for developing and driving marketing strategies and promotions of Hong Kong in the region. Following Chan’s appointment, Martin Gwee, currently director, marketing, Southeast Asia, will be promoted to director, Southeast Asia.
