International Chamber of Commerce’s (ICC) global forum for chambers of commerce, the World Chambers Federation (WCF) has opened its first combined bidding cycle for 2028–2029 flagship events.

Chambers worldwide can express interest in hosting one of four opportunities: three WCF Regional Summits across 2028–2029 and the World Chambers Congress in 2029.

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and its World Chambers Federation (WCF) have opened a global call for chambers of commerce to host its flagship chamber events in 2028 and 2029, bringing the World Chambers Congress and WCF Regional Summits into one connected bidding cycle for the first time.

Under the cycle, four host chambers will be selected:

·       two WCF Regional Summits in 2028;

·       one WCF Regional Summit in 2029;

·       one World Chambers Congress in 2029.

Expressions of Interest close on 14 October 2026. Chambers are not required to submit a complete bid, detailed business plan, confirmed venue or final delivery model at this stage.

The Expression of Interest is intended to help chambers set out their strategic motivation, identify which opportunity they want to explore, provide an initial view of readiness and begin a structured conversation with ICC WCF.

Interested bidders may also register for a webinar, or download detailed bidding guidelines via the ICC website.

ICC WCF said the single portfolio cycle is designed to connect global ambition with regional action, while giving chambers a clearer view of the full 2028–2029 hosting pipeline.

The World Chambers Congress is WCF’s global agenda-setting platform for the chamber network, bringing chambers together to shape shared priorities, exchange strategic insight, showcase innovation and reinforce collective leadership.

WCF Regional Summits are distinct regional platforms for business leadership and action. They convene chambers, businesses and stakeholders around the opportunities and challenges shaping a region, translating wider priorities into locally relevant discussion and action. ICC WCF describes the distinction as complementary: the Congress shapes the agenda, while Regional Summits activate it.

The most recent World Chambers Congress was held in Melbourne, Australia in 2025, with the next edition set to take place in Toronto, Canada in 2027.

Examples of past Regional Summits include the WCF Americas Summit, which took place in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, in May 2026, and the WCF Africa Summit, which was staged in Nairobi, Kenya, in April 2025.
