KrisWorld’s new wellness planner offers content on sleep, meditation, breathing exercises and more to promote better comfort on longhaul journeys.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) is upgrading its KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system and introducing high-speed satellite connectivity, with the changes aimed at giving passengers more flexibility to work, stream content and manage their journey while on board.
The next-generation KrisWorld will be rolled out progressively from 2027 on 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 longhaul and A350-900 ultra-long-range (ULR) aircraft, as well as the airline’s upcoming Boeing 777-9 fleet. Features will vary by aircraft type and cabin class.
The upgraded system will feature 4K high-resolution touchscreens, including OLED displays on selected aircraft and in selected cabins, alongside spatial audio and Bluetooth pairing for personal headphones. Screen sizes will range from up to 13 inches in Economy Class to 32 inches in First Class on selected aircraft.
The redesigned interface will include improved search and filtering functions, shortcuts to preferred content categories and a mini-player that lets passengers continue watching a programme while browsing other content. The entertainment library will offer more than 2,500 options across films, television programmes, music and podcasts, with content refreshed monthly.
Passengers who sign in with their KrisFlyer accounts will be able to receive personalised recommendations, save favourite titles and resume programmes from where they left off on previous flights. The system will also display connecting-flight information, including terminal and gate details for onward SIA flights departing from Singapore.
For business travellers on longer journeys, a new wellness planner will offer sleep and meditation tracks, breathing exercises, light in-seat stretches and healthy-living articles.
First and Business Class passengers on the specified aircraft will also be able to save preferred seat positions for dining, relaxing and sleeping for use on future flights. First Class customers will additionally be able to save lighting preferences.
Separately, SIA will introduce Starlink low-Earth-orbit satellite broadband progressively from early 2027 on its Airbus A380, A350-900 longhaul and A350-900ULR aircraft. The service is intended to support activities such as video streaming, gaming, social media and work on personal devices.
Unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi will continue to be available on Starlink-equipped aircraft to passengers travelling in Suites, First Class and Business Class, as well as PPS Club members and KrisFlyer members travelling in Premium Economy and Economy Class. SIA has yet to confirm its high-speed connectivity plans for other fleets.
The upgrades form part of SIA’s broader enhancement of its travel experience, alongside new longhaul cabin products, refreshed in-flight dining, updated amenities across cabin classes and improvements to ground services.
