Northstar/Cvent Meetings Industry PULSE Survey (APAC) March 2024

Networking remains key as events gain importance, reveals Northstar/Cvent Meetings Industry PULSE Survey.

For the first time ever, the Northstar Industry PULSE Survey – co-produced and sponsored by Cvent – polled planners across the three regions of Asia Pacific; Europe, Middle East and Africa; and North America.

APAC planners are notably more upbeat than their global counterparts when it comes to the outlook for meetings and events in 2024. More than two-thirds of APAC planners also say their events are considered more valuable to stakeholders than before the pandemic.

Additional findings of this survey include:

  • Networking opportunities rank highest in importance for face-to-face meetings for APAC planners, while budget constraints and higher costs remain top challenges worldwide.
  • Within APAC, Bangkok and Singapore are top choices for meetings and events, while Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, and Seoul are also popular destinations.
  • APAC’s sustainability policies, while trailing Europe, are ahead of North America. Encouragingly, more than half of APAC planners have sustainability policies in place.
