Delegates attending the Singapore MICE Forum (SMF) 2017 can look forward to a new thought leadership programme that promises higher levels of engagement.

Taking place July 27-28 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, SMF2017 has chosen to expand on last year's successful conference theme 're:imagine' to 're:imagine - #EngagE' as a reflection of its aim to improve participants' experiences.

To do so, the programme will highlight opportunities and challenges faced by the region on a macro and micro level across 11 breakout sessions.

There will also be a newly-added half-day PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association) Business School "to ensure that the programme is catering to our delegates' broad range of skillsets and business interests," said President of SACEOS Janet Tan-Collis.

"Kicking off with visualising and painting the future, and a look at what the industry could be like in the year 2050, delegates will also learn how other industries have created assets and built audiences around them. Introducing breakouts for this year's sessions, the theme which is all about engagement will bring delegates through approaches on digital strategies, creating original events through unconventional experiences and exploring workplace of the future, all through interactive and engaging platforms," elaborated Dr Shirlena Soh, SACEOS' executive director.

Key highlights of the breakout sessions include:

.The Art of Engaging Communities where the industry will debate research that connects reward and motivation.

.If Digital is the Answer, What is the Question? While many MICE players have embraced facets of the digital economy to spur growth, are they really clear what going digital entails and if using apps means one is automatically 'digitally-enabled'? The session will highlight insights on using data to drive sustainable businesses.

·Unconventional Experiences showcasing three unique approaches to events tailored to engage the audience and inspire them about future possibilities.

"We are confident that this programme will suit all levels of talent, whether you are new to the industry or a veteran.  It makes our focus on driving professionalism through professional education even more exciting and relevant," concluded Dr Soh.
