InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has announced that the resort will be hosting the flagship event of the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders' Week on November 11, 2017.

In preparation for the event, the resort has been working alongside Sungroup, its owning company, as well as the local government and the APEC committee to undergo mandatory works to widen internal roads and upgrade technical infrastructure facilities, including a major face-lift for its conference centre, the Summit. The works also added a new 500-square metre reception hall.

The resort's Summit Conference Center will welcome heads of government from all 21 member economies, along with thousands of delegates, world-leading entrepreneurs and international journalists.

The event is part of the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders' Week, which will be held from November 6-11. To be hosted in Danang, Vietnam's third largest city, the conference will mark a major milestone in the city's socio-economic development.

Since last year, the city has been a flurry of activity as it geared up to host the conference, which saw projects to add state-of-the-art infrastructure, diversified and high-quality accommodation and services as well as highly trained human resources and security.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for us to host such an important and significant event at the resort. For months, our team has been working hard under the instructions and guidance of the APEC Committee, Danang's Government & Sungroup management team to make sure everything is perfect," said Juan Losada, general manager, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort.
