An artist’s impression of the Seda Lio resort.
Seda Hotels has been aggressively expanding in the Philippines in years past. Recently, it announced the opening of its very first resort, Seda Lio, within the 325-hectare Lio Tourism Estate in El Nido, Palawan. Only a few minutes from the airport, the resort-hotel caters to leisure tourists, families, destination weddings, as well as meeting and incentive groups.

Room-wise, Seda Lio has a total of 153 rooms, as well as fully equipped function rooms that can accommodate up to 100 seated people. For more space, there are the adjoining outdoor patios of the main event venue. For more intimate meetings, the resort has a total of three meeting rooms and two board rooms.

One key area of focus is the wedding market. Brett Hickey, group general manager, said that couples will appreciate the option to choose between more traditional or unconventional wedding venues. For example, for something more unique, couples can hold their wedding reception down at the beachfront. Or, if they so choose, gardens and the poolside area are also readily available. Of course, for more conventional wedding ceremonies, the indoor function room is there as well.

At the resort, guests have access to a wide range of facilities and amenities, such as the 1,800-square-metre swimming pool, spa, children's playroom, pool bar and restaurant. Go down to the beach and guests will be able to engage in non-motorised water sports like kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, pedal boating, as well as snorkelling. If shopping is their preference, guests can literally walk to the nearby Ayala Mall at Lio.
