Marriott Hotels' latest Bangkok flagship, Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse, has opened on Surawong Road in the city's downtown arts and culture district. 

The hotel offers 197 guestrooms and 106 deluxe suites across 32 storeys, with flexible room layouts that feature up to three bedrooms. 

For corporate meetings and events, planners have a choice of 1,555 sqm of versatile event space. These include two ballrooms, nine meeting rooms, a colonial-style courtyard and an outdoor garden for events of all sizes. Each venue is equipped with the latest audio-visual technology. An event team is also on-hand to help conceptualise a range of event types including business functions, conferences and private receptions. 

The hotel also caters to health and wellness needs with amenities such as signature spa treatments at the Quan Spa, a 24-hour fitness centre and an outdoor infinity pool set against the backdrop of the Bangkok skyline. 

The hotel is a 45-minute drive from the airport, and nearby attractions include the Neilson Hays Library, Bangkokian Museum, Sri Maha Mariamman Temple (Wat Khaek). The up-and-coming Bangrak Creative District, is steps away, while the Mahanakhon Observatory, which opens soon, provides 360-degree panoramic views and a luxury shopping enclave ICONSIAM.

Guests can tuck in a variety of global fare at the hotel's four dining concepts. The Lobby Lounge serves up international favourites and light, seasonal fare, while the Praya Kitchen offers diners Thai cuisine with a modern twist in a buffet format. 

The Yào Rooftop Bar, perched on the hotel's top floor, offers guests artisanal cocktails and signature bar bites with a Shanghai-inspired terrace looking out on the city and the Chao Praya river. For heavier meals, the hotel's Yào Rooftop Bar Restaurant serves Cantonese and Shanghainese fare, elegant tea rituals amongst glamorous yet modern Chinese-fashioned interiors.
