For events and conferences:
You can't miss the majestic and contemporary building with its folded origami-shaped roof, rising above its surroundings on top of Taman Puncak Selatan in Precinct 5.

Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), the brainchild of Malaysia's fourth Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, is Putrajaya's main convention centre, which opened in 2003 for the 10th Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC).

Since its debut, PICC has gained a reputation as a premier MICE destination, having hosted over 2,500 local and international events. One of the reasons is its convenient location, just 20 minutes from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The centre is also a stone's throw away from global hotel chains such as Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside, Le Meridien Putrajaya and Putrajaya Shangri-La Malaysia.

PICC also has proven capabilities for events, large or small, with its impressive 135,000sqm of floor space spanning across seven floors.

Particularly noteworthy is the 4,123sqm Plenary Hall, which is the largest auditorium in PICC with a capacity of up to 3,000 people. For large banquets, themed events such as high-end fashion shows or major ceremonies, the pillar-free Perdana Hall ballroom which can accommodate up to 2,800 people is ideal.

Putral Hall

Intimate conferences are best held in Halls 1-10, which offer 290-315sqm of space that can seat up to 200 guests in a theatre style, or 150, classroom-style. For important meetings, they can be held in PICC's suites, which boast a luxurious and contemporary décor, and are fitted with pantries where refreshments or pre-cooked meals can be enjoyed.

PICC also offers sophisticated information and communications technology (ICT) to aid communication and interaction during events. These include wireless simultaneous interpretation system; live television broadcast and coverage capabilities; holographic rear projection system; and video-conferencing system.

Food is often an important aspect of any event and PICC knows this. Planners can select catering services such as 'Hawker's Night' or steamboat, or opt for a proper sit-down lunch or dinner buffet at the on-site Pot & Pan Restaurant.

Keeping in line with Putrajaya's reputation as an 'intelligent garden city', PICC is an eco-friendly and energy-efficient building and was the first convention centre to be awarded the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Best Practices Award by ASEAN in 2007.

This is available until December 31 this year.

For team bonding:

Left: High ropes Course at District21; Right: District21 is Malaysia's first indoor sports and recreation park.

For some adrenaline-pumping fun, head to District21 - Malaysia's first indoor sports and recreation park.

Located within IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, the 6,503sqm indoor adventure park offers 10 exciting attractions, which can be played free and easy, as long as minimum weight (20kg) and height (90cm) restrictions are met.

For groups with 20-500 persons, tailored corporate packages are available. Each session is typically three to four hours, with a maximum of five games being played. For post-activity programme, District21 has eight function rooms available for booking.

While District21's event coordinators can recommend activities that meet your objectives, those that serve as great group challenges include trampoline field Launch Pad, where participants can take part in unique challenges like working together to balance an item from one side to the other; and The Maze, a timed activity which requires selected participants to navigate a vertical labyrinth of tunnels and cages - 10m above ground - while the rest of the team engages in activities on the ground.

Another not-to-be-missed experience is Tubby Ride, which recreates the sensation of sliding down a snow bank on an inner tube.

District21 has played host to several corporate clients such as Pergurusan Aset Air Berhad for its Family Day, which saw 380 staff, family and kids gathered in one session; and Malaysian national oil company, Petronas, for a session aimed at getting participants to 'Go Beyond The Limit', 'Strive for Perfection' and strengthen bonding.

To help facilitate planning, District21 has teamed up with Le Meridien Putrajaya, which is linked directly to IOI City Mall, to offer the 'Amazing Adventures' package. Starting from RM500 (US$115) for two persons, the package comprises a two-day one-night stay in a Signature room (twin-sharing), inclusive of breakfast and a park pass. Hotel staff will provide necessary event coordination for a hassle-free experience. The package is applicable for bookings of 10 rooms or more, and valid till December 30, 2017.
