Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) has relocated its headquarters to Plaza Aurora at Jalan McDougall, Kuching as it continues to build Sarawak's position in the industry.

The new headquarters, officiated by Y.B Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Sarawak, will house two other international associations and a meeting venue for up to 30.

"I wish to congratulate SCB on this milestone, and we hope for the team to continue with your great work for the future of Business Events in Sarawak," commented the Minister at the launch of the new office.

Since its launch in 2006, the bureau has attracted some 746 business events to the state, generating a direct delegate expenditure of RM575.8 million (US$142.6 million).

"From our initial team of seven to our current force of 28, our new home is a beacon of growth and aspirations. We look forward in developing this dynamic sector - in arms with the government, our convention ambassadors, industry partners, the media and the public," said Amelia Roziman, SCB's chief operating officer.
